TEXTBOOK PROGRAM

At Coleman University, we strive to ensure students get the most out of their educational experience. In order to minimize the effort students have to put in to acquire their textbooks, Coleman University has implemented a Textbook acquisition and distribution program providing format specific complimentary textbooks for students at Coleman University.

CONTACT ABOUT THE TEXTBOOK PROGRAM

GOING DIGITAL

Our Academic team is committed to removing any barriers for students and ensure academic success. One of the initiatives the team is working on is moving towards primarily using Digital Resources and e-Books. This allows the University to ensure timely access to these resources and also simplify the distribution process. Students benefit from instant access to their e-Textbooks.

UNDERSTAND THE DISTRIBUTION PROCESS

The distribution process of Textbooks varies for different formats (print vs. ebooks). The format of your textbook may be found in the Master Textbook List below. E-Textbooks are provided via RedShelf; while print copies are ordered, at no cost to you, through MBS Direct. Coleman acquires some course materials directly from OpenSource sources as well as our library databases. These links will be embedded in the course content within your Moodle class and will not require you to order any textbooks.

Read the FAQs section for specific details.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE TEXTBOOK PROCESS

The student’s role in the textbook distribution process is very critical in order to ensure that your textbook is available to you on day 1 of the term. Please see the Master Textbook List below and locate your class to determine if you have a textbook for the class, and if so, the format.

Print Only Format – It is the responsibility of students to place your textbook order through the Coleman University / MBS Online Bookstore as soon as possible when the bookstore opens, to ensure that you have the textbook on day 1 of the term.

Students start receiving email notifications from MBS Direct approximately 2 weeks before the beginning of the term. The MBS Direct notifications will be automatically sent to the student’s Coleman email account. Instructions and links to order your textbook will be contained in the email.

E-Textbooks (Ebook Only) Book Format – No order has to be placed in the online bookstore for an e-Textbook. Rather, it is the responsibility of the student to click on the “RedShelf E-textbook” link found in your Moodle class. Once you click the link, you will be taken into your e-Textbook. This will ensure that you receive the textbook for the duration of the license of the book.

LIRN Books 24×7, Ebook Central, Ebook Academic and OERS – No order has to be placed through Coleman University / MBS Online Bookstore. Rather all links for these items will be located within your Moodle class.
